5 Tips for Making Great Web Videos

  1. Keep it short - no more than 2 minutes. (That’s about how long you can watch something on your office computer before you get caught.)
  2. Authentic people - like the car owner, shop owner, or tour guide. Let a real person tell your story, not an actor or a “talking head” on teleprompter.
  3. Invest in good microphones and lighting. Bad lighting and poor sound quality will turn off your viewers - fast.
  4. Don’t over-produce it; glam and slick do not work well on the Web.
  5. Your video should have a strong narrative and tell a good story.
